A Word in Parting

I hope by now you have a growing confidence that you have done the right thing in looking to Jesus for your salvation. He is God’s perfect answer to all your salvation questions! It is so typical of life, however, that one answer leads into many more questions and one problem solved ushers in a fresh array of challenges. At least by now, you have a good understanding of what the basics are. Really mastering them will take a lifetime of practical experience.

At the time of this writing, I have entered my thirtieth year of walking with Jesus, and still, I find myself daily re-discovering the all-encompassing reality of what it means to be saved by grace. My need for Him seems endless! Good thing that His supply of mercy and saving help far surpasses my necessities (and yours). Still, one of the most baffling mysteries of all is why trusting myself to Him in everything remains such a challenge.

I note this not to discourage you, my friend, but to relieve you at the outset (if it were possible) of the impossible burden of thinking you must achieve some kind of perfection with your faith. Do the best you can and never quit! There. That sums it up nicely. Have a great adventure in the Lord and tell me about it whenever the Lord weaves our lives together again, whether in this life or the next. Until then...
